The Harlem Jazz Orchestra
The Harlem Jazz Orchestra, often referred to just as Harlem, specialises in big band jazz from New York of the late 1920s and 1930s. The 13-piece band has toured extensively in Europe and the UK, and is led by internationally acclaimed trombonist, arranger, and undisputed master of plunger trombone, Bob Hunt.
Comprising the finest exponents of the idiom from all over the country, the band is proud to be recognised as the most authentic performers of this music - working from original scores from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC!
Presented with insight and humour by vocalist Sarah Spencer, the band brings the music of Ellington, Henderson, King Oliver and all the greats from the era back to life, along with exciting new compositions in their style by leader, Bob Hunt.
